School leadership for literacy
This toolkit highlights best practices for effectively developing parent-school relationships that support students’ learning both in and out of school. It acknowledges that school leadership and parents must commit to working together in order to realize these practices.
This document contains pictures of and a list of recommended activities that teachers can use using at the beginning of the school year. These activities can be implemented within the P1 to P4 classrooms and in turn help support gains in pupil’s literacy and numeracy. These activities will also help motivate the teachers, foster team spirit and provide you with opportunities for teachers to practise their English as you facilitate training sessions.
This guide/resource is designed to support trainers to facilitate a follow-up on a workshop for primary school teachers of grades 1 to 3 in the effective use and management of story books in their classrooms. Head teachers, deans of studies, mentors and SEOs are supposed to use this resource to help them execute their work. The guide is organized into three sections; Section 1: Introduction to the trainer’s guide which entails the background information of RCBI project and workshop, intended outcomes, learning objectives ,etc, Section 2: Workshop sessions, that includes scripted session plans for each of the workshop sessions, Section 3: Workshop resources that include ppts slides and any other resources that support the sessions.
